Make your own bubble mixture
What you will need for the bubble mixture
For the bubble solution you will need:
1.5 cups of water
1/2 cup dishwashing liquid
2 tsp sugar
You will also need:
A small airtight container with a lid or a bowl or cup to hold the bubbles
A spoon for stirring the bubble mixture
A bubble wand for blowing the bubbles
How to make the bubble mixture
1. Pour the dishwashing liquid into the container.
2. Add the water then the sugar and stir everything together gently.
3. You're now good to go! However, the bubble solution tends to work best if you leave it for a couple of hours or overnight if you can.
4. Then head outside and blow bubbles!
5. Once your toddler or preschooler has finished playing with the bubbles mix (if there’s actually any left!), store it in an airtight container to use again another day.
Tips for your bubble mixture
Every brand of dishwashing liquid is different, in both concentration and bubble quality, so you may need to experiment a little before you get the bubble mixture exactly right. You may need to use less water or increase the amount of dishwashing liquid that you need.
Try not to shake or stir your bubbles too much or the mixture will start to foam and won’t be as effective.
Experiment with blowing bubbles using different items, not just a bubble wand, such as straws, cookie cutters, slotted spoons, fly swatters etc.
