Kids will love this sparkly no-bake play dough recipe!

Play dough is always a hit with young children, so why not add some glitter for more fun and a little extra sparkle!

It’s easy to model into all sorts of shapes and creations and perfect to use at home, as a party activity or as a take home item in kids party bags.

You can even make it a couple of days in advance if you’re pushed for time.

What you’ll need for your sparkly glitter play dough

 

• 2 cups of flour
• 4 tablespoons of cream of tartar
• 1 cup of salt
• 2 cups of boiling water
• A few drops of essential oil 
• A few drops of Wilton Icing Colour Gel to colour the dough
• Mixing bowl
• Wooden spoon for mixing
• Large zip-lock bag or airtight container

 

How to make your sparkly glitter play dough recipe

1. Put all the ingredients into the mixing bowl.

2. Use the wooden spoon to mix all the ingredients until they start to come together to form a dough.

3. Place the dough onto a bench and knead until smooth.

4. Store the play dough in a zip-lock bag or airtight container when it’s not in use. It should last a couple of weeks.
 

Tips for sparkly glitter play dough

 

• If possible, use superfine glitter so the play dough is smooth to play with.

 

• You can use your favourite essential oils, but lavender, rose and peppermint are amongst the most popular fragrances.
