Here are 15 fun winter activities that will keep your toddler and preschooler entertained during the colder months.
15 Winter activities for toddlers & preschoolers
1. Have an indoor picnic
Spread a rug out in the lounge and provide some yummy treats and healthy snacks for you and your toddler or preschooler to enjoy.
2. Play board games
It may seem a little old fashioned, but board games are a great way to get the family together and the skill level can be matched to the age of your kids.
3. Do some baking
Toddlers and preschoolers love to bake, so choose an easy recipe to make together and eat it for lunch or afternoon tea. It will help them learn some basic cooking skills too.
4. Go sledging & make snowmen
If you have snow, take your toddler or preschooler sledging or make snowmen in the backyard. If you don’t have a sledge make your own from plastic bin liners or old trays.
5. Make your own glitter glue
Make your own glitter glue!. It's perfect for adding sparkle to all your kids arts and crafts.
6. Make some marshmallow slime

7. Do some puzzles
Find some puzzles and do them together. Buy your own, hire them from your local toy library or borrow them from friends. You could even try to make your own magnetic puzzles.
8. Make your own snow paint
No need to go out in the cold, make your own snow paint and get your toddler or preschooler to paint up some wintery creations inside in the warm.
9. Make a hut in the lounge
Make a hut for your toddler or preschooler to play in using blankets, sheets, tables and chairs and fill it with cushions and fun things for them to do inside.
10. Play pop stars
Play pop stars or your own version of Britain's Got Talent with you as the judge and your toddler or preschooler singing and dancing around the room to their favourite music. Capture it all on video if you can. It will be something fun for you all to look back on.
11. Organise a treasure hunt
Why not organise a treasure hunt around the house or just in one room if your children are still quite young.
12. Play shop
Play shop using play money and items around the house to sell. It's a great way to help your toddler and preschooler with their counting too.
13. Play in the rain
Wrap up warm and put on your gumboots and play outside in the puddles or go for a walk in the rain with your umbrella.
14. Make your own snow dough
Stay warm inside and make your own snow dough. Your toddler or preschooler will have hours of fun.
15. Invite friends over
Invite your little one's friends over for a playdate. Kids love spending time with others their own age.
