Qualified dance teacher Amy Yorke is the director of Dance Avenue and has 20 years of dance teaching experience behind her. She believes that dance is for everyone and is proud that 10% of DA dancers are boys.

AUCKLAND: JitterBubs offers preschool dance and movement classes for 2 – 5 year olds. Our programme provides a strong foundation which aids preschoolers in future movement and dance training, as well as their development and transition into preschool and school. Kaitie Burrows also teaches our preschool classes.Kaitie was a student at DA before moving to Melbourne to continue her dance training. She has returned to Tauranga with a wealth of knowledge and is super friendly and loves little people
Dance Avenue – preschool dance classes
Our preschool combination dance classes are for children aged from 2 years and upwards and we have classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
These dance classes are super fun and funky with age-appropriate music and moves. Everything from skips, gallops, fairy and dragon runs to mine, boogies and spins.
We also have an obstacle course to help with developing your preschoolers' balance, strength and co-ordination. Plus, their first dance class is a FREE trial!
Our Pre Primary ballet class covers basic ballet moves. Tendus, pliés, sautés, skips and gallops with fairy wands and use of imagination. Classes are held at our dance studio in Greerton.
Our Pre-Primary Jazz classes are a beginner jazz transition class from preschool dance to Junior jazz. Fun, groovy dance classes to learn the basics of jazz dancing. Loads of boogies and shakes.
Preschoolers 3 years old and over have the option to be included in our big annual show in August and our smaller end of year concert in early December.
We offer dance classes for older children in Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Acro, Hiphop and Ballet styles.
