  • ¼ cup cold water

  • ½ cup cornflour

  • 2¾ cup additional cold water

  • Small jars with lids for storing the paint

How to make edible finger paints

1. In a bowl, soak the gelatine in ¼ cup of cold water to soften.

2. In a saucepan, mix the cornflour and 2¾ cups of cold water to make a smooth paste with no lumps.

3. Heat the cornflour mixture over a medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture boils, thickens and turns clear.

4. Remove the cornflour mixture from the heat and stir in the gelatine mixture.

5. Cool and divide the mixture into several jars.

6. In the first jar, gradually add and stir in the food colouring until it is well blended and you have the colour you want. Repeat for each jar.
