Have a go at some of these fun Valentine’s Day activities with your toddler or preschooler to help celebrate 14 February this year.
1. Make Valentine's cards
Make your Valentine’s cards with your toddler or preschooler and send or give them to the people you love.
2. Make Valentine's Day decorations
Make heart-shaped paper chains and decorate the house or your kids bedroom.
3. Make Valentine's Day cupcakes
Toddlers and preschoolers love baking! Make and decorate some yummy chocolate cupcakes for the special people in your life and decorate them with red or pink icing.
4. Find some Valentine's Day treasures
Take your toddler or preschooler for a walk to find some 'treasures' for the special people in their life.
Perhaps find some rocks and take them home to paint and decorate with red hearts.
5. Organise a Valentine's Day picnic
Organise a picnic in the park or at the beach, or perhaps a morning or afternoon tea instead, and spend time with your toddler or preschooler and others in your family.
6. Make Valentine's love hearts
Make love hearts using sun melted crayons! Just place old crayon pieces in heart-shaped baking molds and leave in the sun to melt and create new heart-shaped crayons.
7. Paint a Valentine's Day picture
Get your toddler or preschooler to paint a picture full of red roses. Just cut the bottom off a head of celery and use it as a stamp.
Dip the cut edges of the celery bottom into red paint and press it onto plain paper to create your rose heads.
