What you'll need for your ice world

  • Cold water

  • Ice cube tray(s) for the icebergs

  • Small plastic pots for the ice shelves

  • A roasting tray, low sided dish or plastic container

  • Some fun Artic and/or Antarctic creatures (polar bears, penguins, etc) or fish and other sea creatures

How to make your ice world

1. Freeze the water into the ice cube trays and small pots for the icebergs and ice shelves.

2. Once frozen, tip the ice cubes and ice blocks into the roasting tray, low sided dish or plastic container.

3. Add your choice of Artic and/or Antarctic creatures or fish and other sea creatures onto the ice.

4. Add some water to create the sea. You can add a few drops of blue food colouring too for more effect.

5. Put the tray outside in the sun and watch as the ice begins to melt and your ice world changes shape.
