Hilton Brown Swimming - Kids Swimming Lessons
Working with proven teaching methods that have been continuously fine-tuned since the Hilton Brown swim school started in 1973, our highly-trained instructors aim to ensure a successful and enjoyable learning experience for everyone.
A point of difference for our kids swim classes is a continual review progress that celebrates success and promotes children to the next level as soon as they’re ready to move up. This speeds their journey to becoming competent, technically-correct swimmers.
Every Hilton Brown instructor working with babies, toddlers and preschoolers has received special training to ensure lessons are safe and fun. Our unique teaching methods are the result of years of experience – we know what works!
Baby & toddler swimming lessons
Our Infants Swim Programme helps babies and toddlers to become confident in water.
The classes are 30-minutes and suitable for children aged 3 months to 3 years.
Initially babies and toddlers learn how to be happy in and under the water. As they progress they learn how to safely enter and exit the pool, kick, turn around, roll onto their backs to float and swim back to the side.
The emphasis is on basic water skills that prepare the way for learning how to swim.
Young kids learn better with their own age group, so we split our classes into two age groups:
Preschool swimming lessons
Our Preschool Swim Programme is suitable for kids aged 3 to 5 years and moves children through six levels of learning, from beginner to competent swimmer.
Once swimming lessons start, we review progress every month and promote kids who are ready to move up.
Children receive a certificate for completing a level. Most other swimming schools only assess children at the end of the school term.
Preschool swim classes have a ratio of four children to one teacher.
