Make your own colourful soap slime

What you’ll need for your colourful soap slime

  • Pure soap flakes (approx. 2 cups)
  • Warm water (approx. 5 cups)
  • Large container
  • Wooden spoon
  • Electric beater
  • Food colouring in different colours (optional)
  • Several large bowls
  • Utensils to play with such as bowls, spoons, muffin trays, hand beaters etc

How to make colourful soap slime

1. Pour the soap flakes and warm water into a large container, bowl or even an old baby bath or tub.

2. Stir the mixture gently with a wooden spoon so the soap flakes start to dissolve.

3. Once the soap flakes have dissolved, continue to mix with the electric beater until the soap slime gets nice and thick and fluffy.

4. When the mixture is all whipped up, separate the soap slime into separate large bowls and then add a few drops of food colouring to each bowl. One colour per bowl.

5. Gently stir the soap slime in each bowl until the food colouring is fully blended.

6. Pour the colourful soap slime from each bowl back into the original large container or tub.

7. It’s now ready for your kids to play with using all the different kitchen utensils.

8. Colourful soap slime is perfect for stirring, beating, mixing and pretend-baking with it!

Tips for your colourful soap slime

  • To make a thick slime, use 1 cup of soap flakes to 2½ cups of warm water. Add more water if you prefer a runnier slime mixture.

  • You can use a hand beater instead of an electric beater but it will take a lot longer and the soap slime may not be as lovely and fluffy.
