12 Photos you need to take of your toddler

We often take hundreds of photos during our baby’s first year, but don’t stop there! Remember to capture those equally precious moments as your baby turns into a toddler. Toddlers have lots of milestones too that you'll want to record and look back on when they're older.

Remember to capture those equally precious moments as your baby turns into a toddler.

Toddlers have lots of milestones too that you'll want to record and look back on when they're older.

12 Photos you need to take of your toddler

1. Baking photos

They may not be the next Master Chef, but take some fun photos of your toddler covered in flour, sugar or chocolate as they help you with some baking.

2. Bike & scooter photos

Photograph your toddler the first time they try riding a scooter, balance bike or trike and capture the huge smile when they realise they can do it on their own.

3. Birthday photos

Your toddler's 2nd and 3rd birthdays are just as special as their first birthday, so take a few good birthday party photos with the birthday cake, opening presents and having fun with their family and friends to help remember the occasion.

4. Christmas photos

Christmas will mean so much more to your little one as a toddler than it did when they were a baby. Capture them on Christmas morning surrounded by presents and the Christmas tree.

5. Fancy dress photos

Take a photo of your toddler dressed in their favourite fancy dress costume. Whether it’s for a birthday party, Christmas, Halloween or just because! Toddlers love to express themselves in their own unique way.

6. Favourite toy photos

Capture your toddler’s obsession with a particular toy. They’ll love looking back at this shot when they’re older.

7. First haircut photos

The first time you get your toddler’s haircut, remember to take a before and after photo. They’ll no longer look like your little baby.

8. Playdate photos

There’s nothing cuter than a photo of your toddler surrounded by all of their friends. Don’t worry about getting them to pose, an action shot is just as fun.

9. Sibling photos

The day your little one becomes a big brother or big sister is a big deal, so take a photo of them both meeting for the very first time.

10. Silly faces photos

Toddlers seem to have a whole collection of silly facial expressions, so get snapping away whenever one makes an appearance.

11. Swimming photos

Take a shot of your toddler during their swimming lessons or go into the sea or even a paddling pool in the backyard.

12. Walking photos

You may have captured your baby’s first steps, but walking confidently and learning to run on their own is another proud moment for you to capture.
