Tulip fork painting

What you’ll need for your tulip fork painting

  • A selection of paint colours (use homemade or shop-bought paints)
  • Large flat plate or several small plates/saucers
  • Forks
  • Paper or card to paint onto
  • Paint brush

To make your tulip artwork

1. Pour small drops of each of the paint colours onto a large flat plate or several smaller plates or saucers. Try to leave space in between to help prevent the paint colours running into each other.

2. Dip the back of a fork into one of the paint colours. Press the fork down firmly to ensure both the base and the prongs of the fork get covered in paint.

3. Press the back of the fork onto the paper or card to make the tulip petals. Press the fork prongs down first and then the base of the fork to get the tulip flower shape.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 using different coloured paints.

5. Once you’ve finished creating your tulip heads, you can use the paint brush dipped in paint to paint on the tulip stems and maybe some grass, the sky and sun too.

6. Leave your masterpiece to dry before hanging it on the wall.
