A funny rhyming picture book about friendship and the power of reading and bedtime stories.

Princess Sophie is fed up and exhausted. She just can’t get to sleep and it’s all because of a grumpy old giant who is stomping about all night.

But as the resourceful Sophie reads her favourite book of fairy tales, she suddenly has a bright idea and figures out exactly what the giant really needs.

She bravely climbs the beanstalk carrying a tasty bowl of porridge, a cuddly teddy bear, and cosy blanket to help soothe the giant. But nothing seems to work until she finally hits upon the perfect thing - a bedtime story!

Everyone lives (and sleeps) happily ever after, but when Sophie teaches the giant how to read himself, it is the most perfect ending of all.

Caryl Hart became a full time children's author in 2007 and has had several books published. She writes picture books, young fiction and also runs workshops for schools and libraries.

Suitable for children 3 years old+.
