It’s always fun to look at the name list to see if your baby’s name is featured, or if you’re pregnant and looking for names for your new baby.

A total of 13,668 different first names were given to 59,302 babies born in 2018, as recorded by the Registrar-General of Births, Deaths and Marriages last year.

Charlotte and Oliver have again taken out the top spot in the list for the most popular baby names of 2018.

Mia and Nikau are top of the list for the most loved Mâori names.

The top Mâori baby names were calculated and researched in partnership with the e Taura Whiri I te reo Mâori, the Mâori Language Commission.
