TAURANGA: Gaye Hemsley from DancWrite Promotions has many talents and specialises in all things children, including children's party entertainment, dancing, children's books and CDs.
Nana Gaye is also a dance teacher and children’s author, and with years of experience of working with young children, she has a lot of fun and original ideas to offer in her sessions.
Her life has been surrounded by children, her own, her dance pupils, her grandchildren and now great grandchildren.
Nana Gaye says she cannot imagine life without the joy and inspiration children create.

Dancing
Having staged shows for over fifty years teaching dance and writing is a happy combination for Nana Gaye.
She offers dance instruction for all age groups and is happy to help teachers with choreography for school productions.
Doing dance chorography is not unlike planning a story, with an interesting beginning, exciting middle and satisfactory ending.
Books & CDs
Nana Gaye's range of children’s books will have your pre-schoolers wanting you to read them again and again, and school-aged children will delight in reading them themselves.
She has always been interested in writing and was pushed in the right direction by attending a week long course on writing down one’s family stories.
This gave her the foundations for story writing and lead onto signing up for a correspondence course on ‘Writing for Children’.
Children’s picture books have been published under the name of DancWrite Promotions ‘Dance a Poem’ books which come with a CD so children can act out the song.
Children’s costume hire
Nana Gaye has hundreds of children’s costumes for hire for dress-up parties, dance recitals and school productions, including popular story book characters.
Children's ballet shoes
Looking for dance wear for your little ballerina? We have pink leather English ballet shoes and socks and tights are also available.
Community
Nana Gaye loves to involve local children in community activities like visiting rest homes and performing in combined concerts.
Being director of non profit group Christina Productions Inc. Gaye runs many events through the year including National Children’s Day Party, National Poetry Day School visits, Welcome Summer Combined Concert, Fairy Scary Party for Halloween.
She also runs a weekly writer’s group in her hometown of Katikati.
