Our dance school is very friendly and family focused and we maintain a very supportive approach to your child's learning. 

Your child is not just a number in a class, but an important member of the dance school and we concern ourselves with your child's needs.

The Bennett School of Ballet and Jazz has been operating in Dunedin since 1994, taking classes in classical ballet and jazz.

At Bennett School of Ballet & jazz the dance classes we offer include:
 

Movement for Pre-Schoolers

 

• Our Movement for Pre-Schoolers classes teach movement to music incorporating ballet and jazz moves, using our imaginations and having fun with props.

 

Ballet classes for children from 5 years

 

• Teaching children ballet through the Cecchetti syllabus well known around the world fordeveloping well rounded dancers.

 

• Prepares childen for dance exams (optional). 

 

• Develops co-ordination, poise, confidence, rhythnical sense and musicality while ensuring that the proces is still fun.

 

Jazz classes for children from 5 years

 

• Teaching children jazz through the Jazz Dance NZ syllabus.

 

• Prepares childen for exams (optional).

 

• Develops posture, muscle tone, listening skills, rhythm and enjoyment of jazz dance.
